Meet Grace - Pheno’s head Clinical Nutritionist.
Hello! I'm Grace, a passionate foodie, health advocate, and outdoor enthusiast.
My love for both people and nature has always drawn me into the health space. With a background in both Human Nutrition and Neuroscience, I approach health holistically, believing that what we eat, how we live, and how we move are fundamental to our well-being. The impact of these factors on health is evident in the Blue Zones, where centenarians thrive.
My own health journey had its challenges, including dealing with amenorrhea, painful periods, and persistent acne. These struggles pushed me to delve deeper into lifestyle medicine, leading to significant improvements in my well-being. After university, I gained invaluable experience at BePure Holistic Nutrition Clinic before starting my own practice. Continuing my education, I studied Clinical Nutrition with the Holistic Performance Institute.
Every day, I'm inspired by the stories of transformation from my clients. From overcoming persistent migraines to reversing type 2 diabetes, the successes motivate me to remain dedicated to this field. My approach to health issues is rooted in systems biology—I understand that our bodies are interconnected, and addressing the root cause is key to sustainable solutions, not just addressing the apparent symptoms.
I live in Central Otago, surrounded by endless outdoor adventures. When I'm not working with clients, you'll find me hiking, mountain biking, cooking, gardening, or immersed in a good book. Recently, I completed my first mountain bike race, the Motutapu Classic, putting my newfound skills to the test!
My husband, Conor, and I love hiking and hunting together. Our favourite hikes are the Rees Dart and Gillespie pass. While I've yet to bag a deer myself, I eagerly turn Conor's catches into delicious meals. Cooking is not just a hobby; it's a creative outlet that brings me immense joy, especially when shared with friends and family.
