Weight Challenges
The vicious cycle of weight loss and weight gain is a common theme we see. We aim to approach it in a very different way to commonly used restrictive diets and potions to ‘shed the pounds’.
We view weight gain as a symptom of an unhealthy body and therefore weight loss as a bi-product of a healthy body and so this is what we focus on - health! Once your gut is working, tools are in place to manage your nervous system, hormones are balanced, you are getting adequate sleep and your blood sugars are stable then you will lose a healthy amount of weight - if necessary.
"My weight has reduced to 68kg from 82kg in just a few months! My blood sugar has dropped by 8 points and now I am free from diabetes." - Ranjeet
Skin Concerns
The skin truly is a reflection of what is going on internally. When the skin is aggravated, whether that be eczema, acne or another skin concern, it’s communication from your system that something is out of kilter. Our approach is to identify what is driving the imbalance and address this.
Commonly this is in relation to 3 things - gut health, sex hormones and stress hormones. When we investigate these areas in more detail and provide the right tools for them to thrive, the skin settles down.
"Grace has been absolutely amazing to work with, her knowledge and professional service is outstanding! Thanks to her help I was finally able to overcome my chronic hormonal acne battle (after trying endless things for over 5 years) naturally, without the need for medication" - Desiree
Pain & Inflammation
Whether it be joint pain, headaches or period pain it is all a sign of imbalance internally. If the pain is not from structural damage then we can often investigate further to see what is driving this. Inflammation can be caused by a number of factors - an imbalance of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids, food intolerances/allergies that are inflaming the gut, an overactive immune system, leaky gut/intestinal permeability and stress.
Once we identify the key factors we can make a plan to address these alongside ensuring your body is well nourished and nutrient replete.
“I started working with Grace nearly 2 years ago when I was a bit of a wreck and couldn’t find the answers to my health concerns. I felt ‘yuck’, inflamed and couldn’t work out what was really going on in my body.
After a thorough consultation which included an extensive heath history, blood work and stool testing, Grace identified leaky gut which was the main reason for all the inflammation I was experiencing. Through her advice on tweaking a few things in my diet, supplements, and lifestyle changes, my body made changes quite quickly and my gut began to heal.
I haven’t taken an asthma inhaler in over 18 months and no longer take any antihistamines at all. My head is clear and aches and pains have gone. I no longer feel inflamed and know what foods and environmental factors trigger my gut.
I am incredibly grateful for Grace's patience and not giving up on me.” - Leanna
Your digestive system is arguably the most important organ to look after. This is due to its impact on every other system in the body. As hippocrates said ‘all disease begins in the gut’. Research has grown hugely in this area over the last 10 years and given us greater insights into this complicated system also known as the ‘second brain’. It’s our greatest immune barrier to the outside world and controls (when healthy) everything that enters into your blood system.
We take a top down approach when looking at the gut to first make sure the right foods are coming in, your digesting it properly, your intestinal lining/immune barrier is strong and lastly the microbiome is healthy.
When one or more of these areas is not working well the rest of the system is affected and eventually it will present as gut symptoms - bloating/pain/reflux/irregular bowel motions - or further down the track it may translate to skin irritations, joint pain, migraines, fatigue etc. Investigating this properly is a crucial step in your health journey.
Gut & Digestive Health
“After catching some nasty parasites overseas I developed acne and suffered extreme bloating after 90% of the foods I ate. I started working with Grace and it didn’t take long for things to improve - my bloating has now completely gone and once again I am able to eat ALL the foods I love with no adverse reaction!
My skin is getting better day by day and I have honestly never felt happier in myself. From the bottom of my heart, thank YOU!” - Holly
Our immune system is largely found within our gut. This is our first line of defence against anything entering the body that is foreign - viruses, bacteria, toxins, food allergens etc. If your gut health is compromised it becomes a lot easier for infections to take hold in the body.
Other factors that play a part in supporting or compromising the immune system include sleep, hydration, nutrient repletion or depletion and stress levels. Once we can have an overall look at what’s going on for you we can identify the contributing factors to your struggling immune system and implement the right tools to address these.
Immune Support
“I felt like every second week I was coming down with some sort of illness and spending SO MUCH on immunity pills! After some blood tests Grace recommended a diet change and sourced me some natural supplements that have drastically improved my immune system.
I’ve never gone this long without feeling run down - I’ve loved this process so much and would recommend it to anyone looking to boost their immune system in a natural way.” - Ellie
Hormones are chemical messengers telling the body what to do and when e.g. menstruate, slow the metabolism down, run for dear life and reproduce. When these messages are coming at the wrong time or with the wrong intensity it can lead to a host of symptoms e.g. irregular menstruation, struggle to lose weight, continual flight and fight mode and an inability to conceive. There is always a reason behind why the hormone communication has changed.
If we use fertility as an example, the body may not be conceiving as it doesn’t deem the current environment as a safe place to bring a baby into the world perhaps because there is too much stress and under-nourishment. This will result in low hormone levels and no ovulation.
Whatever the hormone concern is - thyroid, sex, stress, blood sugar regulating hormones - we can take a closer look at your situation to see what has affected these chemical messengers and implement the right steps to get the communication back in a healthy place.
Hormone Balance
